We went to my sons family day on November 12.2009. As we were driving around Parris Island we came upon the Yellow Footprints. I asked my son to let me get a picture of him on the footprints and he refused.

Just like a kid at Christmas!!!!

 

Finally...Our first letter came on Halloween, three weeks after our son stepped on those yellow footprints. And we received another letter today. I am like a child on Christmas morning. So good to hear he is doing well. And he seems to really like it.

Proud beyond words!

 

My son left on November 28, 2011 to take his place on those yellow footprints. I spent ten years in law enforcement and 19 years being a single parent but let me say that this has been the single hardest thing I have ever done.
