Sadness turns to Joy

 

My Son left for boot camp October 12, he is at Camp Pendleton. I had a horrible day coping with his absence. Every time I went into his room I was unable to breathe. I felt as if I was breathing normal but my oxygen was cut off.

My son left for Parris Island on Monday, August 9, 2010. We were shocked at his decision to join as he had completed his AA degree and 3 semesters of his BA. This wasn't a part of our plan for him, but this is the life he wanted.

Coming from a big city (New York) as a parent you worry about all the influences out on the street that could easily take your child from you. Today thanks to USMC I worry no more. My son graduated Nov 16th as a Marine. What an awesome transformation.

After Boot Camp- What's Next...

 

My son graduated from USMC Boot Camp on 3 Sept 2010 from Parris Island and the 10-day Boot Camp Leave started as soon as we loaded his gear in the truck for the long ride home.
