My son leaves for Parris Island in 8 hours
My son leaves in 8 hours for Parris island. I am a very proud mom but yet I am going to miss him, worry about him, and I am not going to get any sleep tonight. As far as that phone call, I told him to call his dad.

We dropped my son off at recruiter's office on 9/11 to arrive in San Diego on 9/12. His father and I are divorced and his dad lives in Las Vegas. He always spent summers in Vegas with his dad and this summer was the most important.

History in the USMC Corporal Nicolas Scott Roberts joined the Marine Corps in November 26, 2001, following his graduation from Rocky Mountain High School. Following recruit training he attended the School of Infantry for training as an infantry Marine.
My son leaves for boot camp in San Diego on Sept 10...I'm just looking for any others out there that will have sons leaving at the same time. I am so proud of my son. I get so emotional when I think about him leaving.

My son is leaving very soon and even though i understand this is what he wants to do my heart does not understand that. I worry so much, will he be okay or his spirit broken? He has never been a problem child and is a joy to have around.

My boyfriend Adam left for boot camp on July 19, 2010 to Parris Island. It was the hardest thing ever. I have received like 6 letters so far. I can't wait 'til his graduation on October 15. I am so proud of him.

Our 18 year old son will be leaving in 4 1/2 months. It really didn't hit home until today when I went to my first parents meeting. I cried through the whole thing. We are fiercely proud of our son.

A thought to the parents of the Marines

I am interested in connecting with any parent who's son or daughter just left for bootcamp with my Christopher this past Monday September 26, 2011 in San Diego. I do enjoy all the post but I would like to go through this experience simultaneously.
