I received what will probably be the last letter from MCRD boot camp from my son. Congratulations to Charlie Co. Plt. 1046. Sr. DI, Sgt. Lopez, thank you for your dedication and commitment to our brave new Marines.

My daughter left for Parris Island on 11/28/11. Thankfully I did fairly well keeping it together in front of her yesterday, but today is a completely different story! I pray she is doing better with this than I am.

My son is 19 and I dropped him off at the recruiting office two days ago. Today (September 27th) I received a call from him to tell me he was getting ready to get on the airplane but wanted to call to say he loves me one last time.

Today has been a wonderful and for those that have yet to receive mail, I hope it comes soon. My son, seems to be doing okay. The letter help ease my worry, but I have to admit God has kept me strong.

Our Son in now in country and called us to say he made it safely and soon will reach his final destination. We are having the whole spectrum of emotions from intense pride to intense worry. His brother and sisters are also on pins and needles.

My son left to SD for boot camp 04/09/12
My son was suppose to leave on April 20, he called me last Tuesday that he was leaving Monday. I cried like a baby I was not ready for him to leave so soon.

My Marine is in his 10th week. I think abouth him constantly. When he first became a teenager and driving I don't remember thinking of him as much as I do right now. I am so proud of him. I am wearing out the paper he writes letters to me.

My Son graduated from Parris Island on July 1st . It was one of the most proudest moments of my life. I have mixed feeling about the new chapter in his life. I'm happy that he decided to become a Marine for all the right reasons.

My son left for Parris Island on 7/25/11. I was very emotional for the first few weeks, but it has gotten better. I miss him very much & think of him all of the time, but the time has gone by quickly.
