Well, right now I'm 13 years old. I'm in 7th grade and I'm in my middle schools JROTC class. I love it! And the marines. I plan on doing JROTC and ROTC throughout highschool and 4 years of college. Then I want to become a infantry officer in the USMC.

My boyfriend of about 6 months decided to enlist this summer and he was told he would leave for boot camp in December to go to San Diego. While he was at PT he was given the opportunity to leave earlier. He is now leaving in October instead of December.

Aspiring Marine, need advice on how to talk to my parents
My brother (currently a senior in college) is in marine NROTC. I am currently a high school junior and I plan on doing NROTC as well for either the Marines or the Navy. My parents don't want me to become a Marine.

When I wake up tomorrow, my boyfriend of nearly 5 years will be swearing in and shipping out to Parris Island for basic. We've never spent more than 1 week apart and I'm devastated, terrified, nervous, worried, and depressed.

My step-son will be graduating from Boot Camp sometime in May, we think around the 20th. He just left for Parris Island, SC from NJ on 02/22/11 (1st RTBN, CO-B) so we haven't yet received an exact date from him on graduation.
