My son left for boot camp yesterday. This has been his dream from a young boy and that makes me a proud mother. At the same time I couldn't sleep last night and have cried often. My heart aches to be able to protect him as a mother does.

I got my first letter. He some how missed the first phone call and letter. Not sure how that happens. He sounds good. Not homesick. He says the food and sleep is great! I am so happy. I write him everyday, now that I have his address.
