Our son was suppose to leave for bootcamp on Monday, June 27. He is a senior in college and we have prepared for this day for almost a year. He was told on Friday June 24 that he was being put on stand by. He has passed all his PT.

My son and his best friend shipped out on June 27th to San Diego. I'm so proud of them both for their honor, courage and committment however I do have fear of the unknown. Giving them those last hugs and kisses at the airport broke my heart.

Left for Parris, Island on 6/27/11 and it was so hard letting go. I received a letter from him and cried bucket tears because I missed him so much, but I know when I see him on graduation day 9/23/11, my baby is going to be a Proud, Strong Young man.

I would love to communicate with other mom's whose sons have just gone in....to give eachother encouragement if they are further along than my son. This was so tough today....saying goodbye and watching him run to get on the bus.

Left for Parris Island June 20th, 2011
Wow I miss my son! His family is so proud of him! This is something he has wanted for a long time. Graduated from Northmor High School June 5th and left from Cleveland for Parris Island 6/20/11. Received phone call at 10:38. Now waiting on first letter.

My son left for bootcamp on June 13th 2011
My son was not suppose to leave until June 20th 2011 but was called in last minute to leave June 13th. He is in San Diego, California for his training. What a tough transition for this mom . He is my baby boy.
