I can't believe that in 17 days I get to see my son and I will be able to call him a Marine! This journey has been so hard, all you other parents will agree. I had days of crying because I missed him so much.

Yesterday we dropped Joe at the Marine Recruiters office. Today 8/22/11 he should be arriving @ Parris Island S.C. We miss him so much but we know this is where he wanted his journey to begin.

I am so excited!! Only 19 days left before I see my son! Proud doesn't even begin to describe how I am feeling. Family day is Tuesday, Nov. 22. Graduation is Wed. before Thanksgiving! What a special Thanksgiving that will be for our family.

I am so proud of my son for this journey he is about to enter and wouldn't dare let him see how upset I was as he hopped excitedly into his recruiters car but I am feeling so lost and incomplete without him.
