I saw this phrase on a t-shirt at the Corps Store in Beaufort, SC on Family Day, just before I went to see my son at Parris Island for the first time in 3 months, and it so clearly expressed my feelings.

At first it was kind of hard for me as a mother to accept my son joining the Marine Corps. But now with gods help I've learned to accept it I'm so proud of my son being one of the Few, the Proud, the Marines.

My son graduated from boot camp on June 19, 2009. I felt like the most proud mom there. Although I am so sure all moms were feeling the same. Tears fell from my eyes as I ran to hug him. What relief I felt, to have my baby in my arms again.

Life long dream

 

My son is now in boot camp in San Diego. It was his dream to become a MARINE. As a father and friend I tried to talk him out of joining the Corps, and to consider a college career. My son joined the ROTC his freshman year in H.S.

My son left on dec 17 for boot camp. It was the hardest to say good-bye. Now that i have been receiving letters it seems like it will never be graduation day soon enough. He seems to be doing well. sounds tired but that should be expected.

my son cody left for parris island aug.13th 2012. I thought it was only for 3 mths. then I could see him. It has only been about 4 weeks but god it feels like forever.
