I got my first letter. He some how missed the first phone call and letter. Not sure how that happens. He sounds good. Not homesick. He says the food and sleep is great! I am so happy. I write him everyday, now that I have his address.

My son Nathan left for Parris Island on 2/13/2011 and I felt that he was unprepared for the reality of basic training. His letters are upbeat and he seems to be doing well.

Happy Thanksgiving!! Graduation PLT 1089 1st BN A Co.
I am so excited!! Only 19 days left before I see my son! Proud doesn't even begin to describe how I am feeling. Family day is Tuesday, Nov. 22. Graduation is Wed. before Thanksgiving! What a special Thanksgiving that will be for our family.

I went to MEPS yesterday and watched and video recorded of my daughter swearing in. I am so glad I was able to be there is it was awsome!! It made me feel so much better seeing her and how happy she was.

My Recruit in ECHO CO PLT 2001, has made it through 7 weeks. He has so far passed all the tests. This week is target shooting. Hope he passes on Friday. I know all you parents out there will be so happy when graduation day comes.

What a time. I thought the days would never come. Then I thought the hours leading up to family day and graduation would never end. My mother-in-all and I drove 22 hours to San Diego for his graduation and stayed at my best friend’s place.

Today, I received the 1st note from my son after one week of boot camp at Parris Island, S.C. I'm so happy and relieved to hear he is fine, working hard, and making new friends in his platoon.

Military Occupational Specialty School (MOS)
UPDATE: My son, PFC Christopher Martini, completed Combat Training in NC today. He received his orders to report to Camp Pendelton in San Diego, CA. His MOS training will be in Amphibious Assault Vehicles.
