The first weeks are the hardest.

 

My son shipped on July 16, 2012. I received the 4:30 am 6 second phone call on July 17, 2012. As of July 31, 2012 I have not received the postcard with his address. My son has wanted to be a Marine since he was little.

Hardest day of my life

 

My son left for Parris Island on May 7th, and it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do.. I received my first letter from him and it was awesome. I miss him everyday.

My son is heading into his 8th week!!

 

The first two weeks are the hardest! Hang in there! I didn't get my first letter until about the 3rd week. We still have not talked to him, and don't expect to. He writes a lot and I write him just about every other day.

OMG! So happy! My daughter just received the first letter from my son! Exactly two weeks from when he shipped off 8/8/11.

Parent of Two Marines

 

My daughter and son are both at Parris Island now. They left on 8/8/2011 and will graduate on Nov. 4th. This has been the hardest thing I've ever done.

I finally received my sons first letter!! He has been on P.I. since 9/6 and it came 9/17. He sounds different already but says that he is doing ok and wants me to stop crying>> I feel so much better now just knowing that he is ok..

Week 6

 

My son is on week 6. I can not tell you how much I miss him. But I'm so proud all at the same time. This has to be the longest 13 weeks of my life. Oct. can't get here fast enough.He has called twice and we get lots of mail from him.
