3 weeks to boot camp

 

My son leaves for boot camp in 3 weeks. I am on such an emotional roller coaster, one minute I am so proud and the next I am crying! He has not even left yet.

I finally received a letter!

 

My son also headed out on June 20th and yesterday I finally received a letter. Was so good to finally hear from him, and it sounds like it is harder than he thought, but he said it is finally coming together.

My daughter left for PI on Nov 7. Her first letter was heartbreaking as she was so home sick. The last few have been much better. She told me she hurt her knee and is on crutches.

Missing my son...

 

My son left for bootcamp on 9/26/11 to San Diego. I was an emotional wreck for the first couple of weeks. I've received a few letters from him which has made me feel a lot better. They were pretty positive considering what they are going through.

My son left for boot camp on the 13th and i haven't slept since. I am so worried about him. I am extremely proud of him and know this was the right decision, but i didn't think i would be this much of a baby...

Parent of Two Marines

 

My daughter and son are both at Parris Island now. They left on 8/8/2011 and will graduate on Nov. 4th. This has been the hardest thing I've ever done.

Still in Shock

 

My son turned 18 last week. He signed initial paperwork today and will be swearing in next Wednesday. I am scared, proud, overwhelmed and emotional. I am looking for support, so anyone that would like to exchange information, please post.

My son leaves for boot camp in San Diego on Sept 10...I'm just looking for any others out there that will have sons leaving at the same time. I am so proud of my son. I get so emotional when I think about him leaving.

From Father to Son

 

I am a proud Marine of 21 1/2 years of service. This morning I felt compelled to share my story. As I am writing this story my son is in recruit training. I can't explain the pride I feel as each day passes in his journey to earn the title "MARINE".
