1st deployment

 

This is the first deployment for me. My son left 29 Palms on 4-20-11. Since then I feel like I'm falling apart. My son has been e-mailing me which has been great. It makes me feel better knowing he is ok.

My son was just put on his first deployment list for Afghanistan. He is nervous as am I but this is going to be his third time re-enlisting. He is trying to make a career out of the US Marines and I hope that he comes home safe.

My Grandson will most likely be deployed to Afghanistan this fall. Any help with coping with this for him and for us, his family would be appreciated!! He is excited about it, but we are scared but also very proud.

We went to my sons family day on November 12.2009. As we were driving around Parris Island we came upon the Yellow Footprints. I asked my son to let me get a picture of him on the footprints and he refused.
