Advice - Delayed Entry Program
My son, an 18 year old high school senior, recently enlisted in the Marine's Delayed Entry Program. It was a long-thought-out decision, and one much discussed with his Dad and I.

My son was in the Delayed Entry Program and was scheduled to go to Parris Island to Boot Camp on August 27, 2012. But was pushed back. I'm a little confused as to why. But waiting to see what happens. Can anyone help me understand this better? Thank you.

New to the marine recruit family
My youngest son decided he wanted to join the Marines when he was junior in highschool. He joined the delayed entry program in September and his shipout date is August 8th. He worked so hard to get prepared for his new journey.

my boyfriend of one year,right now, has enlisted and sworn in and everything in the past few months.he is in the delayed entry program. he is a senior in HS and i am a junior. he currently goes to PT once a week and the ironman workouts once a month.

Our son arrived in San Diego to begin his 13 weeks of boot camp, just yesterday (6/13). He had been preparing for this day since last August, when his mother and I agreed to sign for his delayed entry.

My son Isaac left for bootcamp 8/20 in San Diego, its been over a week now still waiting on that first letter. Ive known he has wanted this since he was little. His high school yrs being in the jrotc helped him to prepare for this.

My son Joe left fo Parris Island today...Joe has talked of wanting to become a Marine for a couple of years now and I'll admit I wasn't crazy about it at first, but after talking with him a lot I realized that he truly felt that this was his "calling".

My 17 yr old is in the DEP and is scheduled to leave for Parris Island in Sept (2011). I'm a bit nervous for him but mostly excited. He has talked about being in the military since 6th grade. This has been the only consistant thing that excited him.
