I am the Mom of a recruit. My daughter entered the Dep program on her 17th Birthday. She trained as a poolee for a year and then left 3 hours after her commencement for Parris Island. She is fullfilling a dream come true.

Hello my daughter too left on Dec. 17th. As a mother of a only child, I have had mixed feelings since she left. So I understand your sadness, I too am sad and feel very lonely without her. As parents it's hard to let them go.

My daughter will be leaving for boot camp 28th Nov 2011. We are so proud of her and her decision. Being a mother and knowing that her baby will be leaving soon is killing me.

My daughter is in the Papa Co., Parris Island S.C. she is very sick and will not graduate with her platoon. Probably has bronchitis & pneumonia or both. She has to redo and graduate with another unit. Through reading here, a lot are sick.

My son had been over sea's 3 times, last time coming home in Dec 2011.They are the light of my life, and when Roger is over sea's you nerves are shot. Roger loves the USMC and I am so proud of him. I love all of our Marine Corp, you are the BEST.
