I am so excited I can hardly stand it!! My son will be graduating from boot camp on Fri 12/09/11 I CO Plt 3097. Whoo hoo 14 more days until family day. When I get to see my hansome son that has became a man and a MARINE.

Countdown to Graduation, Jan. 7, 2011
Chris is in week 11 "The Crucible". SO EXCITED to hear he is an official MARINE. I could not be more proud. Congratulations to all the recruits in ECHO CO, Platoon 2001 and their parents. Hope to meet many of you at Parent's Day on Jan. 6.

Staying in Touch My Daughter at Parris Island
We didn't hear from our daughter for a week! The one phone call went to her recruiter and it was a long night, but then the letters started coming. Gratefulness and thank you and I miss you and I love you...more than we could have ever dreamed of.

I wish i could say it is getting easier but its not my husband and i have been counting down the days till he graduates 86 days to go still no letter i hope we get one soon i think it will help a little to hear from him I am proud of him and support him

Fox Co. Platoon 2131 Graduation!
I can't believe that in 17 days I get to see my son and I will be able to call him a Marine! This journey has been so hard, all you other parents will agree. I had days of crying because I missed him so much.

He left on Sunday afternoon, July 10th. I have always been so proud of him and his choices but this one was hard for me to accept with the world like it is today. However, I am so proud of him and his decision to defend our freedoms.

After 6 months in the delayed entry, and Kevin working his tail off, literally, he was finally sent to basic training in San Diego. Things to date have gone according to plan. My husband and I received the call home.

As the mother of a new recruit, each day I am more and more excited about the path my son has decided to take with the USMC. He thought this thing out and did not waiver. I look forward to the weeks to come...I'm counting down the days.
