My son leaves in 8 hours for Parris island. I am a very proud mom but yet I am going to miss him, worry about him, and I am not going to get any sleep tonight. As far as that phone call, I told him to call his dad.

My son left June 26th for Parris Island. Its been difficult. I am so proud of him, yet miss him so badly ive had bouts of depression and a sense of loss. I know this is the greatest choice for him and keep my sadness to myself.

I miss my recruit he will be graduating sept 9th and cant wait! It is so nice to have other mothers on here to talk to. That understand because they are going through the same thing.

I know that many parents and loved ones struggle with the seperation that comes with boot camp. I'm certainly no different in that respect, but 6 of my friends (2 of them being my very BEST friends) joined the Marines.
