My youngest leaves for Bootcamp in 29 days..July 25th..

 

My youngest son is leaving for Boot Camp Parris Island on July 25th. I have had a whole year to prepare for this (he enlisted in teh DEP last June) but I am starting to feel very anxious now.

My son Shawn is starting his 4th week of boot camp today. He is is Charlie Co. 1042, 1st RTBN - anyone else from that company? His graduation date is 6-17-11.

It's almost time!

 

I'm getting quite anxious to see my brother. We are VERY close to graduation. I finally got to see his face when they put the Platoon videos up on Friday. It was so overwhelming. I miss him so much.

7th week and counting down

 

My baby left for boot camp Sept 19th and I never thought it would be so hard for me. Every time I think of him I tear up. What can I say, to be a Marine was his dream.

Leaving for Bootcamp

 

My 18 year old son is leaving for bootcamp in San Diego August 22nd! I have very mixed emotions about this! While I am excited and proud, I also find myself feeling anxious and scared! Does anyone else have a son or daughter leaving in August for San Dieg

Mom's Feeling Blue

 

My son left for boot camp (Parris Island) on September 8, 2010.He trained hard for the past 8 months prior to leaving. He was so ready for this. I, on the other hand, could not prepare for how much I'd miss him.

The little things

 

When I left my son at MEPS on Monday after he was sworn in, I managed not to cry until I was out of his sight. I knew he was tired and anxious and I didn't want to add to that.

Week 10 and into The Crucible he goes!

 

My son is on his way to The Crucible and I know he can do this, I'm battling my own fears of injuries that may occur! This is an interesting milestone I have faced with him.

Nervous

 

My son goes to a pool function tomorrow morning and he has to be able to pass all the requirements, including weight in order to enter boot camp. He has worked so hard to pass all the requirements. I am so anxious for him.

Recruit Graduation

 

My step-son will be graduating from Boot Camp sometime in May, we think around the 20th. He just left for Parris Island, SC from NJ on 02/22/11 (1st RTBN, CO-B) so we haven't yet received an exact date from him on graduation.
