8/23/10 ship for SD boot camp

 

Hi, My son left for SD boot on August 23. My husband & I cried most of the way home from dropping him off for the stay to ship on 8/23. We got the "10 second call" at 10:30 SD time, 12:30 our time. We have gotten 4 letters so far.

My son went in a month after 9/11 and I was a wreck. I wish we had this type of support back then. He did well though and so did I. We went to San Diego for graduation--it was amazing! He was with HMM 161 and after a year and a half went to Iraq.
