My daughter left for boot camp today. I will miss her so much, I tried not to cry in front of her but it was hard. I love you Des. See you May 13 in SC for family day and graduation. I am so proud of her and I can't believe she actually did it.

1st letter arrives!!!

FINALLY, we received our 1st letter from our son! I waited for my wife to arrive so we could open it together. My son says they are going through Hell there. He is anxious to receive mail from us. My advice is to write as many letters as you can.

Proud Mom

Exactly a week from today I will be leaving for PI to watch my son graduate. I am so excited for family day to be able to see and talk to my son which I haven't been able to do in 13 weeks. Words cannot express how very proud I am of him.

My Marine

My son Brandon left for boot camp (San Diego) on 02/14/2011. We are so proud of the decision he has made to serve our great country! But feel so empty that he is gone for these 13 weeks without communication. Right now it feels like an eternity.

Graduation is Around the Corner

On October 25th I wrote on this site that 24 hrs had not even gone by and how I missed my son. Well next week he will be graduating (as long as they pass the crucible) and I cannot believe that the 13 weeks are almost up.

Crucible/Graduation

My son finished the Crucible on May 5th. We all waited anxiously for the call on Sunday that he received his EGA...I was certain he did, but I was hoping for the call just to hear his voice. I waited all day. Followed my new "family" on Facebook.

It only took 6 seconds

On Tuesday, September 6 at exactly 10:18 p.m., just as I was about to doze off for the night my phone rang. I picked it up to see ‘Restricted’ on the caller ID. Normally, I do not answer if I don’t recognize the number.
