Recruit begins his training 12-3-2012

Posted By: Darlene DeGroat 12-06-12

Sunday, December 2, 2012 my youngest step son departed for his boot camp training. This is my second time as a Marine Parent and its as hard as it was the first time. I must say I am very proud of his decision and look forward to him joining the Marine Family. My eldest son completed his commitment to the Marines but still sees himself as a Marine. He is proud of his little brother and looks forward to having a different bond outside of being a brother. Looking forward to graduation and the opportunity to meet other parents during his training through this website as well as on base during their graduation. I think this site is an excellent idea to help families cope with the strict seriousness of the USMC training program and the approach in gaining the focus needed to absorb all the information needed in becoming a Marine.

My son also left on this date. In his case, I believe he was born a Marine.

My youngest son left for basic training the same time as your son. This is the first time for me and the hardest thing I've ever gone through. I'm so happy to have found this website!
