I have been dating my marine for 8months now. I talked to him every day from the time we got up till we went to bed, we were really close he is my best friend, we saw eachother alot and now hes gone to parris island for basic training for 13 weeks. The first couple of days were really rough for me and now im just trying to stay busy and be strong. Its getting really challenging though sence I have not heard from him yet...Still waiting for my 1st letter. Is anyone else going through this?

My marine leaves tomorrow but I am in the same boat. We talk all day everyday so to not have that is weird. We said our goodbye's this morning. They say it takes a couple weeks to get a letter. My goal is to stay busy. Hopefully the 13 weeks will go by fast.

I recieved my first letter today! He finally got my letters and wrote me back! He is doing as good as he can be in basic! He seems like he is changing alot for the better I love it! Its now been almost a month that he has been away which means we only have like 60 more days until I can see him at graduation! Staying busy!!

Hi my name is Katherine. My Marine is currently deployed overseas. He has been gone since November 2011. It is hard being apart. Especially when the only kind of communication we have is over the computer. I have not heard from him in a while. I worry about him constantly. Being in Kabul where our soldiers die everyday. I've been getting on this site for maybe a couple of weeks. I haven't had any posts from anyone. His mom works all the time. His dad died in action. Therefore, my support comes from within. Hopefully this will help you a little. Good luck and hope you hear from him soon!

I have heard from my boyfriend thank goodness! He didnt know my address so all of the letters he writes he sends home and his sister texts them to me! I have wrote him so hopefully he will get that soon and will accually write me! Its been really hard for me to stay busy but im hanging in there!! We figured out he graduates basic like a week earlier then we thought he would so only 10 more weeks!! Thanks for the support and good luck Katherine that would be really rough, and stay in contact we can all go through this together dont battle it alone.
