MORE THAN JUST DRESS BLUES!
Posted By: Ronald Mangrum 06-12-12
I first signed the papers for the United States Marines in 1971. At first it was the dress blues that caught my eye but I soon learned it was much more than just the uniform. I had joined a brotherhood that would last me for the rest of my life. My first stop was Parris Island as it was for so many Marines and yes it was the hardest thing I have ever done. But it was so very much worth all of the blood, sweat, and tears. You have heard it stated that freedom is not free and that is so true. America and her freedom have to be defended and the United States Marines are the best warriors for the mission. No it is not easy but nothing worth fighting for ever is, we live in the greatest nation on earth and it is worth fighting for. God, Country, Corps. The Marines will take your Son and or Daughter and make a change in them that even the parents want believe. But you will be proud of them I can assure you. The title U.S. Marine is a tough one to earn but it will follow you for the rest of your life. Semper Fidelis Forever!
