Stepson in Bootcamp
Posted By: Idania Martinez 05-01-12
My stepson left for boot camp 4-16-12, we received a call late that night letting us know he had arrived, it was a short and scripted call, it sounded as a random note. We then researched that this is how it is, after a week and 1/2 we got a letter with his address where we can send him letters. We have all been sending him letters daily, we have already received 2 letters from him in 3 days, the first letter he told us that things are tough, the DI are constantly screaming and spit purposely as they talk, he sounded disoriented and upset, I have been reading that this is how they will be, and that for the first 3 weeks, it will be horrible, we are just praying for him, and sending him letters daily, although we seat here and cry all the time, but we know there is very little we can do, but send him uplifting and encouraging letters.
According to all the post we have been reading, we should start to see a change in the next week letters to a more positive one. We are currently updating him of what his next weeks schedule will be according to what we see in the internet, I hope this helps him. I hope that they give him all the letters, i've heard that some DI hang on to the letters, until they see fit.
We cant wait until July 13th when he graduates, he is in the 3rd battalion, Mike Co.
Thank you, Proud StepMom
