My boyfriend just left for Parris Island yesterday and should have arrived around 3am this morning. I was supposed to get a phone call from him when he got there, but it never came. Does anyone know if the phone calls are always on time? I want to start writing to him, he said i should get a phone call on friday from his recruiter with the address of where to send his letters. Does anyone know how long it will be before i should recieve my frst letter from him? All my boyfriend has been doing for the past few months was talking about how he couldnt wait to get to basic training and get it over with so he could become a marine. A couple days before he left he was getting really nervous, and the logical part of me knows that he will be fine, but i'm worried about him. I just hope these next three months go by quickly...

I never got a phone call either :( I wonder if my phone didnt have service at the time he called? Or maybe the drill Srgt. is really mean & will let the recruits call a week later after they have been there? I hope I hear from my boyfriend soon! This sucks.

Did you ever receive the phone call when he arrived? I was told all new recruits make this phone call that lasts 30 seconds. I'm waiting as well.

I never did get the call from him, but i did talk to his recruiter which helped a lot, and i recieved a letter with an address to write him and what can and can't be sent while in basic training. Have you recieved anything yet?
