First Letter from my son

Posted By: Patty Williams 02-07-12

I am so happy today. Yesterday I got the first real letter from my son. He says Boot Camp is insane but he is having fun! I am so proud of him for keeping a positive attitude during these first few weeks when it is the hardest. Just seeing his writing and knowing the thoughts come from his heart and mind makes me feel so much better. We are writing everyday to him - he says he will be able to write more in the future. Can not wait for the next one. God love the Marines and pray for safety for all.

Some advice that was given to me from another Marine mom, when you write to your son, put a number on the backside of the envelope. Sometimes they get more than one letter at a time from you and the number let's them know which order to read your letters. I thought that was a great idea.
She also said she sent several self addressed stamped envelopes to him. One less step he has to do in the very little bits of personal time they have.
Hang in there. :)

Thanks for the response. I am looking for any help I can get at this point. I miss my son so much and am just hoping we make it to the graduation. It's a long way from our home to San Diego. I hope to find some people with Recruits in the same area as my son, maybe.
