My son leaves for boot camp June 13,2012. I am so proud of him but at the same time a little scared. My first kid to leave home. I told him to do lots of research before making a desicion on what he wants to do after high school. Then one day he told me all about the Marines and what they can offer him. He didnt want to sign up at 18 because it would make him have to wait several months after high school graduation before he could go to boot camp. We did lots of talking and I went ahead and signed the papers for him to join at 17..Now 12 days after graduation he will be gone to boot camp. He is so excited and ready to go. I will miss him but I know it was the right thing to do. Now I can wait to watch him graduate boot camp.
