My daughter is is her 8th week at boot camp. Not too much longer. I am so proud and scared at the same time. I give her so much credit for choosing this path in life. I know she will be the best Marine and will live up to their history. I can already see the changes in her letters.

Former Marine
Being a 21 year Marine, with 2 tours on the Drill Field, I have never felt the excitement of a parade and graduation like this one. My oldest son graduates on 8 Feb and I am chewing at the bits to get down there. I to see, in his letters, the change in him. He does not give up and accepts things that are not in his control to change. Strives hard in all he does there. He starts the Crucible in a few days....I know how hard that is because I was one of the first DI's to put recruits thru it.......Can't wait...CONGRATS to you and your girl....Marine

This is sweet. I am also proud. She chose to do what she dreams. She has found a strength many women have extremely hard times finding. I say this from experience. God bless you and your daughter.

I am starving for any letters from my daughter who is also in training at Parris Island. I can sense a dramatic change in her. Its a sense of strength and purpose. I still catch glimpses of the little girl whose braids I had to do everyday (she wrote about a sock bun and I had to google a sock bun). I get the sense the despite the harsh conditions and the extremely difficult training that her spirit is strong and that the drill sergeant has a true passion for building strong men and women who have a great passion for their country. I am excited for you and your daughter. I know that I am anxiously waiting for my daughter's graduation.
