Trying to be patient

Posted By: Diana Fors 10-29-11

It's been 11 days since my son left for MCRD PI and I have not received a letter yet. I am trying to be patient, but I'm very anxious. I just want his address so my family and I can start writing to him. I can't wait to hear from him. I know his letter will probably be short but that is fine with me as long as I know he is ok I will be good.

We just received our first letter from our son after three weeks. I know what you are going through. Somewhere I read that it usually takes three weeks for the first letter. You can always call the recruiter to get his contact information. I know it takes the letters we send a lot longer to get to them. I have recieved the second letter and he still hadn't received the ones we sent when he wrote to us. Our first letter from him was short, the second a bit longer. I know what you mean about trying to be patient. I think the mailman thought I was stalking him every time he brought the mail. But that is a Mom thing. Hang in there.

I feel for you, I know that feeling all to well. I will not tell you to be patient because that is not going to happen, but I will tell you try asking his recruiter if they have his address. If not just make sure you write him everyday & then send them 2 at a time in the same envelope (that way its not so overwhelming to your son.) I know its hard but you will make it thur I know at times it wont seem like it but you will. Good luck.
