Graduation

Posted By: Julie Jones 10-02-11

My son graduated on 9/23/11. I am so proud. The entire program was amazing. We were able to attend Family Day and the Colors Ceremony before the graduation ceremony. I am so grateful I was able to attend these activities and have memories that I will cherish the rest of my life. Very soon, I will have to say good bye again. But, this time will be different. Im not sending my son off as a recruit. I am sending him off as a Marine.

My son is at Parris Island and you are right... writing and receiving letters sure does seem to help. He asked for stamps and envelopes so I made sure he got them to him. He has told me that he is working hard to do his 'best' and so letters may be few. But that's ok... I enjoy every single on I get! The Matrix helps me also to somewhat imagine his days tasks.
Best wishes to you and your Marine as I know you are so proud and he will do well with his further training!

I know he will do great! The 13 weeks were tough, but it really helped my spirits to write a letter every morning. Two weeks left of boot camp they ask you do not send anymore letters because the recruits will not get them before graduation. That was very difficult. I really missed writing him. But, the last two weeks went pretty fast. I did the same thing with the training Matrix. Now, I have a new one for his Combat Training. He is in San Diego. Where is your son?
