My husband left for boot camp on September 20, 2011. We had discussed military service when we first got married, but didn't really follow through with anything. My husband has always wanted to serve his country and has more pride for the United States that I have ever seen in anyone else. When the topic resurfaced I wasn't surprised. His decision to join the Marines was an easy one. He wanted to challenge himself. As this journey is just beginning I am so proud of him for his choice. I can't wait to get my first letter so I can send him the letters I have been writing and sending pictures our son has been drawing. Although he still has a long road ahead at least this waiting is over. It is the culmination of dream he has had for a while and I am so excited to be along for the ride.

I cry everyday still :( my boyfriend left on October 11th, and I still don't have a letter from him. Even though I was able to get his address from the info people at MCRD, he should've gotten my lettter last saturday & i still don't have anything :( I feel so empty and alone. You don't even understand how excited I am to see him on family/grad day. It can't come soon enough :/
