My son left for the Marine Corps 9/11/11. I didn't think it was going to be difficult saying goodbye to him but when
I gave him that last hug and said goodbye it made my heart melt and brought tears to my eyes. That made him tear up as he walked away. I know he is going to do great in boot camp. He has been preparing for this and getting in shape since November 2010. May God Bless all our sons and daughters, to get through boot camp, and comfort us parents as well.

I too, was touched by your comment. I just sent my son off to MCT and I thought it would be easier this time when I said good bye at the airport. It wasn't . I hope the next 13 weeks fly by pretty quickly for both you and your new recruit.

Your story made me cry, i am about to experience everything you described, my son will leave on September 26,2011 to San Diego, he is my oldest and only son,i have been trying to prepare myself but every time i think about it i fall too pieces! And reading some of these stories makes it harder. Have you received a letter yet from your son? God Bless our families.
