We are getting letters more often now from him and can tell he is also getting letters we send. He sounds upbeat and motivated to accomplish his goal of becoming a Marine. He is in 1st BN 1093. I hope all those that have colds, etc. are feeling better every day. I am certain it is tough enough to get through what they are doing when feeling good. My best to all these recruits and their families. I too appreciate this web site and the communication it provides. Very helpful. So proud of our kids who chose to take this path for themselves and our Country.

I like you Cheryl, received a letter from my son in his third week of boot camp (Parris Island). I was smiling, laughing and crying as I read it. His sense of humor was evident, but had notes of the seriousness and that he would benefit alot from his training! WOW... the transformation!
My son's graduation date is December 2nd, and I can't wait! I would also love to chat with some mom's that their son has the same graduation date! I would SO love to meet the moms! This site has been a God send!
Best wishes to you and your son! I know you are PROUD!!

My son's graduation date is November 23 also. He is at Parris Island, SC. I'm up at about 4 a.m. because I can't sleep. We received a second letter from him yesterday since he left at end of August. I am concerned he's not getting our letters because of what he wrote. I've read some postings on this web site and they have been helpful and somewhat reaassuring. We too are proud of what he is doing.

Also he is probably getting your letters my son said that when the company is punished they get the mail they just are not given personal time to read them. Making it very difficult for them to write and keep up with you. Stay strong I know how hard it is not knowing if they are getting everything you send but they do not with hold the mail from them. Again they just don't have to give them time to read it.
