My son is in this Platoon, I would love to meet and chat with anyone who has a son, or boyfriend in the same platoon, or Alpha Company. God bless all the recruits in MCRD.

My son has just recently joined this platoon. He left Texas the day after Mother's Day (May 2011) and was in Golf Co. when he was injured, and has been in rehab anxiously awaiting to join this platoon. I'm just hoping he makes it through the rest of boot camp. It was really a devastating set-back for him, but he is determined to finish. I will be one of the happiest moms on November 4th!

My son is in Alpha Co 1st BN Platoon 1013. He left August 8th. We aren't in the same platoon but close. I've been waiting to make our air reservations. Today is the day.....gonna do it.....I just don't want to jinx it. Silly but I miss him so much I don' want to take a chance. I picked out some T shirts of his with Marine stuff on them that I wear every now and them. Silly but I don't miss him as much. It took a long time to accept his decision but he's smart and it's what he wants. He could do anything but he chose this. I am very proud of him and respect his decision. His letters prove to me he made the right decision. He loves it, time is flying by..... Can't wait till graduation November 4th. Feel free to contact me anytime...

My boyfriend is in Plt 1014, but one of our friends is in 1015 with your son! I have sent a few letters to our friend, but so far I haven't received anything in return. I understand he's busy though, and he is more my boyfriend's friend than mine so perhaps he doesn't totally feel comfortable writing me. Not sure. I hope to get a letter from him at some point though :)

Hello Alison,
My recruit is at the same location as Kristin's. But here we are all for all.
Praying for this Phase II to go smoothly.
By the way, MFN is great! I loved it, whatever I don't get from his letters
I get from there.

My Son is in Alpha Co platoon 1016 so they aren't together but I would love to chat anytime. I'm sure we are experiencing some of the same ups and downs! Kristin Kaufmann

Hello Kristin, Nice to meet you. Yes I;m sure we're going through exactly the same experiences! This is certainly a rollercoaster journey we're all on. Do you belong to another site called MFN, I do, and think I've seen you in there! In the letters you've received from your son, how is sounding, upbeat? I do hope so. My son has been up and down, and I'm praying in his next letter he's sounding more focused and dialled in!
