As I sit here looking at the curser blink at me I am still in shock. I thought that putting my son on the van at Fort Lee, in VIrginia was the hardest thing I would ever have to do. It clearly was not! The phone call that I received at 9:30 at night took my breath away! Don't get me wrong, I am so proud of my son, but the way that he was talking was traumatic. I told him that I loved him in the middle of the call , because I knew that he would have to hang up as soon as the card was read, but WOW, I have not been able to get the voice out of my head. Work was hard today, mind was not there and to end the work day we had an earthquake. Had to giggle to myself and wonder if that was the drill instructors yelling at my boy. I hope the 3 months goes by quickly and am waiting with baited breath for my first letter to arrive . Thanks for listening and God bless y'all SEMPER FI OORAH!

Well we are about 1 hr from dropping our almost 19 yr old son off at the recruit center as he leaves for boot camp today...I'm numb and the time is going slowly....dreading that first phone call, I heard its very scripted!
