Zak left Aug 30th for Parris Island. Very proud!! Waiting for his 1st letter with his address. I hope it's today. All day I make notes so I can sit down at the end of the day to write him a letter.

Hi Salean, It's not that I don't have enough to tell him, but there is so much I don't want to forget. I keep up w his Facebook page so I can let him know about his friends. They will write, but not on a regular basis like Mom & Dad!! I have always been proud of Zak, but I have different proud feeling of him & all military people. It breaks my heart he is gone, but they are tears of joy!!
Hi Sherry, I already have labels ready to go as soon as I get that 1st letter!! Hope I get that letter today.
Thanks girls,
Tina

My son Josh left on August 9th and we got his form letter about 10 days later. I was so excited until I saw that I wasn't something he had actually written to us:) It just feels so good to see their hand writing when you can't hear their voice!! Great idea to take notes, hadn't thought of that...but I never seem to have a problem finding things to tell him. He tells us in his letters that he loves the mail, it's so important to him!

Hi Pete:
Great idea to takes notes. Dan left Aug. 9. I've gotten 2 letters besides the form one and a phone call. Hang in there. That letter will come soon.

Our son left July 19th and it took alittle over a week before we got our first letter. It should be anytime now. The first letter was a typed letter with his address and info on it. We received our first hand written letter shortly after that. They dont have much time for writing so one of the things we did was send him pre-addressed envelopes with Stamps. Also if you are able to print out labels with your address and his address that would probably save him time too. Your letter should be coming any day now
