My son left for boot camp on Aug 30. I received the scripted call from him the night he left which I expected. I can't wait to get a letter from him. He was so positive and excited to start this adventure. I just pray he still has that positive attitude! As a Navy Corpsman's wife I have a great deal of respect for both the Navy and the Marines! I am so proud of my son for his commitment to serve and protect our great Country!!

Hi Tammy:
All my best to you and your son. My son was the same when he left. Ready to go. He'd been preparing for a year and he left with 3 other recruits - they were like brothers. In his first letter he indicated how rough it was, but that he is staying positive and holding onto his faith and grateful for every day. Our sons are embarking on an outstanding journey and I couldn't be any prouder. I was a Navy wife also, but it's different as a Mom! Enjoy your first letter when it comes. For me it was like the prize patrol had arrived!
