I am so happy to find this site. This is my son Christopher's first time away from home and it's hard for us to deal with. I have to remind my self what his Recruiter said "No news is good news." I asked him why the Marines and he responded, because they're the only ones to offer me a challenge. I'm proud of him for taking it.

When I asked my son Why the Marines? He said "Because I want to be a part of the BEST of the BEST"! I am so proud of him. My son left Aug. 9 and I can't wait til Nov.! Our sons will be forever changed and from what I hear, they will be even more awesome than they were before. It takes courage to join the Marine Corps. Hold onto your faith. Even though it is hard to deal with, no matter where he is, he is never alone.
