My oldest son left for boot camp on Monday the 18th. This has been so hard because we have had a rough time this year with my father and my husband passing away one month apart. My son was such a rock for me.

My son left on Sept 13 headed to Parris Island to start boot camp, and I had been told to wait on the call from him so I did... There was never a phone call. I as a mother wanted those few seconds to hear my son's voice to tell me I am here and I am ok.

My boyfriend left for boot camp in San Diego on 9-20-10. This is so hard for me to get over. I miss him so much. I have been crying ever since he left. I'm just waiting on a letter from him, and I hope that he can call me.

Turning 18 at boot camp 10/27/10
My son shipped on 9/13/10. He is in 3rd BN, Mike CO, PLT 3101. I didn't realize it was going to be this hard for me. I think about him all the time. He will turn 18 in boot camp on 10/27/10. Sometimes I wish he didn't go.

My son left for boot camp 11/15/2010
My son left for boot camp 11/15/2010 and I already miss him dreadfully. I kept my cell phone with me every moment and finally got "the call" from him on 11/15 @ 10:37 p.m. CST. It lasted all of 12 seconds and I couldn't get a word in edge wise.

My son left for boot camp September 20, 2010. Today I received a phone call from him, he tells me he has been having trouble with the training because of breathing problems, ammonia and pink eye. I am worried whats going to happen to him there.
