I went to Marine Corps Boot Camp, at Parris Island, on June 3rd, 1996. I was an 0311 Infantryman with Alpha Co. 1/2. I was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant in June of 2000. Since then, my nephew recently graduated from Parris Island as well.

My boyfriend just left for Parris Island yesterday and should have arrived around 3am this morning. I was supposed to get a phone call from him when he got there, but it never came.

I am so happy today. Yesterday I got the first real letter from my son. He says Boot Camp is insane but he is having fun! I am so proud of him for keeping a positive attitude during these first few weeks when it is the hardest.

My wonderful son, left for Parris Island January 23rd. He is in Co. B. I received my phone call from him, and just received his first letter, which i must say was pretty heartbreaking, as he voiced how much he missed us, and wished he was home.

My son left to go to bootcamp yesterday, did his last physical and then waited 3 hours to leave the medical facility. He had to do pullups at the end and did 5.

My son leaves for boot camp June 13,2012. I am so proud of him but at the same time a little scared. My first kid to leave home. I told him to do lots of research before making a desicion on what he wants to do after high school.

Just found out about this marine parents site today and I'm crying and smiling my way through the stories. Our son left for Parris Island on January 8th.

My son will graduate from MSO school in 17 days. He gets to come home for 10 days then he will leave Japan. He has been stationed there for 2yr but was told his wife and 11 mt old son cannot go.
