Cpl Jose Madrigal
History in the USMC
Corporal Madrigal joined the Marine Corps in May 2001. After recruit training, he attended the School of Infantry and earned the military occupational specialty as an infantryman. Madrigal was then assigned to Company E, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment. In 2004, he deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Commendation
Corporal Madrigal was awarded the Bronze Star with Combat āVā for heroic actions and steadfast devotion to duty while serving in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom on December 18, 2004. His physical toughness, determination and esprit de corps were an inspiration to his platoon and resulted in the safe evacuation of his men.
